Santana Says Beyoncé Lost to Adele Because She “Can’t Sing Sing”

Santana Says Beyoncé Lost Album Of The Year Because She’s ‘Not A Singer’

The legendary guitarist had a few choice things to say concerning Adele’s win over Beyoncé for “Album of the Year” at this years Grammy Awards. He told the Australian Associated Press, “I think that Adele won because she can sing, sing.” Well that ain’t gonna cause a stir or anything!

He added, “Beyoncé is very beautiful to look at and it’s more like modeling kind of music ― music to model a dress ― she’s not a singer, singer, with all respect to her.”

He went further saying, “Adele can sing, sing. She doesn’t bring all the dancers and props, she can just stand there and she just stood there and sang the song and that’s it, and this is why she wins.”

I don’t know what the uproar is about. Sure folks are saying Beyonce’s “Lemonade” was a movement but it sold only two million copies worldwide while Adele’s “25” sold 20 million. It was not political like “Lemonade” and it’s not about album sales but as Rolling Stone Magazine pointed out today, “”25” was simply more popular than “Lemonade,” by 10 times! Beyoncé made more money on tour but Adele did more shows. Simply more people heard Adele in 2016.

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention a few other interesting points from the Rolling Stone articles on why Adele won over Beyoncé 1. Grammy voters are white. And male …2. … and old. 4. Adele put out 25 the old-fashioned way. That means there was no streaming for months. Adele only put out LP’s and CD’s until finally you could stream the project. 5. The vote may have been split with Justin Bieber and Drake.

I think Beyoncé’ is an amazing talent. I’m not a fan although the girl can sing but that performance at the Grammy’s was one of the most pretentious things I’ve ever seen on TV period. Some people are a little to self-important and precious for my taste. If you liked it good for you. I’m glad you did. – by John Beaudin.
