Sammy Hagar is Getting The Silent Treatment From Van Halen?

The bands former lead singer is getting as much love from his former bandmates as a crinkled old dollar in a vending machine. He says Eddie and Alex Van Halen “haven’t made an effort to be friendly” Which might put out the fire for some fans concerning the so-called Van Hagar reunion for 2017.

rs-211519-rexusa_2692532bThe singer made an appearance on “Trunk Nation”, Eddie Trunk’s new show on SiriusXM channel and was asked what the relationship like? To which he responded, “I have no idea. I’ve done a few things to reach out and be friends, like saying… being honest and saying — after all these guys [rock legends like Glenn Frey and David Bowie] are dying around the globe — ‘Man, I don’t wanna take any enemies to my grave. We’ve gotta be friends [again] at some point.’ But, you know, they probably take it wrong, they probably think, ‘Oh, yeah, he’s trying to get back in the band.’ I don’t know what those guys think.”

Sammy wished both Eddie and Alex happy birthday but they never returned the favor. Though someone tweeted a response on Eddie’s twitter – was it really him? He adds, “there’s a lot of anger over there and resentment against Mike and I, and I don’t know what we did. And we always sit around scratching our ass, going, ‘What? Do you remember doing anything to piss those guys off? I don’t.’ [Laughs] We were just kind of good guys having fun. I guess that pissed them off. We were having too much fun.”

Hagar says he’s not trying to beg his way into the band he’s happy with his Chickenfoot and The Circle projects. It’s more a question the the friendship to him. None of them need the money at least not Eddie and Sammy.

Original Van Halen lead singer David Lee Roth, was with the band from 1974 – 1985, he was back in 1996, then again from 2007 to present. Hagar replaced Roth in 1985 until 1996 then was back from 2003-05. Depending on who you talk to it seems that the Van Halen boys also don’t get along with Roth so I Sammy coming back? Talking would be a good start. – by John Beaudin
