Just a day (Dec 27, 2016) after her daughter Carrie Fisher passed away her mother is also gone. What a shock! Seems as we get closer to the end of the year 2016 is taking more and more lives.

Reynolds was rushed to hospital this afternoon. She was at her son Todd Fisher’s home in Beverly Hills to discuss funeral arrangements for Carrie.

EMT’s were called just after 1PM today.

Reynolds’s was more than a triple threat of acting, singing, and dancing. The entertainer was a film historian and businesswoman.

The Hollywood Icon was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Newcomer for her breakout roles as Helen Kane in the 1950 film Three Little Words. In 1952 when she was just 19 Reynolds was a household name via her leading role in Singin’ in the Rain, with Gene Kelly.

She was Hollywood royalty with parts in The Affairs of Dobie Gillis (1953), Susan Slept Here (1954), Bundle of Joy, The Catered Affair, and Tammy and the Bachelor (1957). She also had her first hit single with the tune ‘Tammy’ for the latter and released her first album in 1959.

She was just as busy in the 60’s with ‘How the West Was Won’, and ‘The Unsinkable Molly Brown’ which got her a Oscar nomination for Best Actress. She rounded out the decade with ‘The Singing Nun,’ ‘Divorce American Style.’

She has her own television show in 1969.In 1988 she released her autobiography titled, Debbie: My Life. In 2013, she released an updated version titled Unsinkable: A Memoir.

In 1973 she returned to the stage with the musical ‘Irene’ on Broadway and anyone going to Las Vegas would know about her own hotel named after her.

She was born Mary Frances Reynolds on April 1, 1932, in El Paso, Texas. They moved to Burbank, California when she was just seven. In 1948 Reynolds won the Miss Burbank beauty contest. In those days she sang, danced and acted much.

Reynolds was married three times. First to singer Eddie Fisher from 1955 -1959 – they were the parents of Carrie and Todd. She was married to Harry Karl for 13 years, they divorced in 1973 and Richard Hamlett for 12 years, until 1996.

The one thing I remember is her smile. She always had one on. Needless to say I was devastated by her daughter, Carrie Fisher’s death. He son Todd said what we are all thinking now. ‘They are together again.’ – by John Beaudin
