From small coffee shops to large arenas all around the world musicians were tipping their hats to the late great Glenn Frey last night. In Chicago Bruce Springsteen performed a version of Frey’s famous “Take It Easy’ from the Eagles 1972 debut album and had the crowd singing along in support.

Written in 1971 with Jackson Brown, “Take It Easy” reached #12 on the U.S. Billboard Charts and #8 in Canada.

Springsteen kicked off his ‘River” tour in Pittsburgh on Saturday with another tribute, this one to David Bowie. His cover of “Rebel Rebel” was another huge hit of the night.

On January 18, 2016, Frey died at the age of 67 in New York City of complications from rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis, and pneumonia, while recovering from intestinal surgery. – by John Beaudin
