ABBA Planning To Reunite “Sort-of” For 2018 Featuring Groundbreaking Technology #AbbaReunion
When you talk reunions Led Zeppelin comes to mind, the original Kiss, Deep Purple during Machine Head, Pink Floyd and The Beatles of course. Some cannot happen because some folks are rocking’ in the heavens but all four members of Abba are still around and there’s some sort of reunion happening though the details are vague so far.
It’s a partnership with Spice Girls music mogul Simon Fuller on a “groundbreaking venture that will utilize the very latest in digital and virtual reality technology.” Adding they, “are keen to “maintain the authenticity and integrity of the band’s original vision. The project will aim to take the Abba experience to a new generation of fans and will enable them to see, hear and feel the band “in a way previously unimagined”.
Andersson said: “We’re inspired by the limitless possibilities of what the future holds and are loving being a part of creating something new and dramatic here – a time machine that captures the essence of who we were. And are.”
Lyngstad said fans around the world always ask about a reunion, and added: “So I hope this new Abba creation will excite them as much as it excites me”.
Fuller is pretty pumped saying, “The creativity and ideas flowing from the members of Abba over the past few months have filled me with great excitement.
“We are exploring a new technological world, with virtual reality and artificial intelligence at the forefront, that will allow us to create new forms of entertainment and content we couldn’t have previously imagined.”
The group broke up in 1982 and fans are hopeful but leery of the news since this is hinting at a digital experience, and virtual reality when all four members are still here in the flesh. Wouldn’t we rather have the real Abba not the digital one?
The band and Fuller has promised much more news in 2017 and the project to debut the following year.
